Gabriel Lanfranchi

Architect from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), a master’s in urban economics from the Torcuato Di Tella University (UTDT) and a SPURS Fellowship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

He currently works as an architect and urban planner at Urbaplan, Switzerland, and is a research fellow at the University of Geneva. He is also the Director of the Postgraduate Programme in Metropolitan Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires and consultant to the IDB and the World Bank.

He has been coordinator of the Urban Environmental Plan of the City of Buenos Aires and director of the Cities Programme at CIPPEC, co-chair of the T20 on climate action for 3 consecutive years and led the Metro Lab Initiative course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2015 and 2018. He is co-editor of the seminal publication on metropolitan issues “Steering the Metropolis” (IDB, UN Habitat, CAF).
