Kat Eshel

Deputy Director of Climate and Environmental Planning at City of Boston. Works to advance the City of Boston’s climate action plan, including climate adaptation, greenhouse gas mitigation and zero waste efforts, and environmental initiatives related to air pollution, noise, and wetlands protection. She collaborates across teams and departments and partners with stakeholders in all segments of the Boston community, to ensure that equity is integrated in our climate and environmental plans and initiatives and achieve Mayor Michelle Wu’s climate and environmental justice goals. Prior to joining the Environment Department in March 2018, Kat worked in nonprofits, the United Nations, and private industry on sustainable urban development, biodiversity conservation, and science communication. She has a Master’s in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po, a Master’s in Environmental Sciences from Université Pierre et Marie Curie, and an Environmental Studies degree from Yale University.
