Master in Architecture and PhD. in Spatial Planning and Local Development from the Politecnico di Torino, where he is associate professor at the Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning (DIST). His research mainly focuses on European territorial governance, in particular on the mutual influence occurring between European spatial planning and the spatial governance and planning systems characterising the different Member States. He has taught and done research as a visiting scholar in numerous institutions in Europe and beyond, and took active part in several international research projects. He published contributions on various international scientific journals and edited books, and is actively involved in the Association of European Schools of Planning, where he coordinates the Thematic Group on Transboundary Spaces, Policy Diffusion, Planning Cultures.
