University professor with more than 30 years of experience, he has been involved in the design, management and supervision of civil engineering, urban planning, environmental and infrastructure development projects.
Throughout his career, he has served in a wide range of positions, such as: Dean of Faculty at the Eduardo Mondlane University; Member of the Board of Administrators of the Mozambican Road Fund; UN-Habitat Programme Manager in Mozambique; Resettlement Facilitator in Limpopo National Park, employed by Peace Parks Foundation; Chief Executive Officer of Maputo Sul Development Company, a parastatal enterprise in charge of the construction of the Maputo-KaTembe bridge and 200 km of roads in the extreme south of Mozambique; Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) Programme Coordinator; Councilor for Urban Planning, Environment and Construction in the city of Maputo.
He has worked in programmes mainly focusing on capacity development, vulnerability reduction, low-cost housing, adaptation to climate change, disasters risk reduction, and upgrading of informal settlements. He has also worked with several international and national organisations in the preparation and implementation of resettlement action plans under two major development projects in Mozambique.
